| Round 2 update |
Time is now up for the final 10 webmasters! Let the judging begin...
Final judging will take place between the 5th and 8th of April, a winner and four runners-up
will be announced on the 13th April.
Some great sites have emerged since the start of the competition way back in October last year
(how time flies!). Whittling it down to 10 was difficult enough, so choosing an overall winner
should be fun!
Good luck to the final 10 - watch this space for the results!

| the results are in... |
After several hours of judging we have finally come up with the list of top 5 Worms 3D
fansites. It wasn't an easy task, but we feel that the right decision has been
made.
Each site was judged on their design, content, and competition quality. All of the final
sites that were eligible for judging had their own funky design and some quality content to
go along with it! The competition quality marks proved crucial, as these helped to determine
the overall results.
What made the judging difficult was that each site was as good as the next. In the end, the
results were very tight and we can't count the amount of times we swapped the order
about!
|
| the winner |
The winning site was chosen as we felt it just had that edge over the rest. Originality was
the key to the success of this site, from the content to the competition quality. Above all
though, we thought that it would make a brilliant official fansite and a great place for W3D
resources - 'I Got Worms' Congratulations to you!

| Round 1 update |
The deadline for Round 1 has passed! All valid entries have now been added to the links
section, in total there are 110 entries - all of which are brilliant!
The 4pm cut-off time was not mentioned on the microsite, this meant that some people were unaware
of the deadline. Therefore we have allowed entries submitted up until midnight on the 21st
November.
Judging will be done as soon as possible, so sit tight and wait to see if your website makes it
into Round 2. As soon as we have decided on the 10 lucky webmasters we will let you know!

| the lucky 10 |
After many hours huddled around a PC checking out all 110 entrants websites, we have finally
decided on the sites that we feel are good enough to progress into Round 2.
The standard of entries are unbelievable. It was hard only choosing 10, but we felt that in
the end, these 10 where the ones that shone out. All sites were judged on their navigation
(quality/functionality) use of Webkit (quality/quantity), design, content and originality.
All sites were checked in a variety of browsers on a typical spec PC.
The chosen 10 were picked for a variety of reasons. Generally, these are the ones that show
most potential as a great W3D resources. The styles and amount of content varies - we think
we have picked a wide variety of different styles and ideas. Round 2 will split these sites
up into the top and bottom 5...
The 10 webmasters have been informed that they have made the cut to round 2. We will be mailing
them again individually next week to discuss Round 2 details and requirements. Follow the links
below to check out the Round 2 entrants...

| Competition Issues |
When is the cut-off date for Round One?
21st November 2003
Why has the entry date for Round One been moved?
To allow foreign entries time to translate their sites.
Do Round One entries have to be fully functional?
No, as long as your website has some structure and gives a general overall look and feel.
How detailed do Round One entries have to be?
See above answer.
Will my website be judged when first submitted or on the Round One cut-off date?
It will be judged on the judging day, which will be after the Round One cut-off date.
How much can I update my site once it has been submitted for Round One?
As much as you like - up until the Round One cut-off date.
How long do I get to improve my website if I get to Round Two?
The Round Two closing date hasn't been decided yet.
Is the competition open to any age?
You must be over thirteen to enter, there is no maximum age.
Does my website have to be active or can I just make one for the purpose of this competition?
The winning website will become the official Worms 3D fansite, therefore your website has to be active.
Can I use Flash with my design?
Yes.
Who is judging the competition?
Various people from Team17 will be responsible for the judging.
Can I enter as part of a team?
Yes, the prizes will have to be shared though.
Can I enter a redesign of my existing Worms website or clan site?
You can enter as long as your website/clan site is modified to suit the competition and is based on Worms 3D. For example, you can modify a WWP website into a Worms 3D website.
Is there any way for people outside Europe/Australia to participate?
Although it is yet to be decided, a similar competition may be held for countries outside Europe/Australia at a later date.
Would it be considered cheating if I was to build a site, then give it to a friend who lives in Europe/Australia, and have them enter?
Yes, as the entrant (winner) will be responsible for future updates of the website.
|
| Microsite Issues |
How can I control the speed of the scrolling text?
A scrolling function has now been implemented, this can be found in the bottom-right corner of the information section.
When is the links page going to be updated?
The links page will be updated as soon as a new entry is submitted and validated.
Is the microsite updated automatically when a new entry is added?
No, this is because we have to check that the URL's being submitted work and are valid entries.
|
| Other Issues |
Will all websites submitted be added to the community links list?
Yes, this will be done after the closing date of Round One.
Can I use any images/content, or just the webkit assets provided?
Yes, although websites relating more to Worms 3D will stand a better chance of impressing the judges.
What should I use the banners in the webkit for?
Advertisements, links, graphics, anything you want really.
Can you give me any hints/tips about what you're looking for?
To stand the best chance of winning/impressing the judges, try and make full use of the webkit.
Use the assets as creatively and originally as possible. Do not just submit links to your already existing
website(s).
Is there a contact email where I can ask questions?
You can ask questions about the webkit competition and microsite [ here ].
